Instead, start looking at their details from the username they have on the site or the full name and the details under their profile descriptions. You may find it full of lies and misinformation.
Being in a chat with someone you only know by username or photo on a dating website or application should be taken seriously if you want to stay safe. There are thousands of romance scammers on popular dating sites. So the only way to protect yourself, and your family members from the bad guys is by teaching them how to verify somebody’s identity. Also, there are smart ways to verify what almost anybody is saying in text messages or emails. For example, when someone who is a man, or a woman sends you a photo on Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or Snapchat, you can easily download that file and upload it to a dedicated reverse image lookup site.
